WeWillWrite accepted by Dutchess BOCES

Dutchess BOCES has accepted WeWillWrite. Schools in its districts can now bring the platform in at a collaborative discounted rate, and here is what they will be getting.

Why teachers use it

WeWillWrite gets students writing. They write often, in short pieces, and in teams, with the whole class reading and voting on the results together. Because the writing is anonymous when it goes up on the screen, student participation is extremely strong across the ability scale. Teachers describe students who "love writing now" and who are "producing longer, more detailed pieces."

It runs inside the lessons teachers already teach. The WeWillWrite library holds hundreds of carefully crafted and curated challenges across ELA, history, STEM, social studies and SEL.

It works wherever students need to explain, argue or describe.

What teachers report

In 2024 we surveyed 2,088 teachers of grades 4 to 12 in the US and Canada.

98 percent said WeWillWrite helps their students write more often. 93 percent said it helps students improve as writers. 89 percent said every student participates, and 84 percent said it has a high impact on students who are hard to motivate.

94 percent said it fits their existing lesson plans.

Already in use across New York

So far in 2026, teachers in more than 1,000 New York schools across roughly 500 districts have used WeWillWrite, nearly 2,000 teachers in all. That includes teachers in eight of the districts served by Dutchess BOCES.

Nationally it is used by more than 200,000 teachers and 4 million students.

New this fall

Sound challenges are the newest feature - sparking imagination through rich soundscapes, thoughtful music and the sounds of the world. Early feedback has been phenomenal.

As ever, there is constantly rotating seasonal content, from Halloween through the holiday season and beyond.

In close collaboration with educators, we continue to build features that expand what WeWillWrite can do in classrooms and across schools and districts.
